In 1930, amidst the turbulence of the Great Depression, one ordinary man with an extraordinary vision – Evans Caddie – planted the first seeds of a timeless ideal: to create educational opportunities for those with limited means but limitless drive, and a deep sense of responsibility to their communities.
From the very first Evans Scholarship granted to a young caddie with dreams of higher education, the journey of Evans Legacy has expanded far beyond what anyone could have imagined. Not built on skyscrapers or material wealth, our legacy is carried forward by individuals inspired to lead with integrity, live with purpose, and uplift the world around them.

Dr. Jonathan Miles Evans
Chairman of Evans Legacy Group – Global Honor and Heritage
As the third-generation descendant of the Evans family – founders of the Evans Caddie Scholarship in 1930 – Dr. Jonathan Miles Evans has not only continued his family’s legacy, but redefined global educational philanthropy by founding Evans Legacy Group in 2002.
Holding a Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Cambridge and a Master’s in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School, he has taught at five of the world’s top universities and coordinated global scholar networks under UNESCO. He also served on the strategic advisory board at the World Economic Forum from 2015 to 2023.
Since 2002, Evans Legacy has awarded over 4,500 fellowships, establishing a global network of more than 1,200 founders, senior executives, and policy leaders across 42 countries.
For the 2025–2035 cycle, he has set his sights on Southeast Asia – a region he identifies as “the emerging center of middle-class leadership potential, underserved by legacy-building opportunities.”
